Winter is fully upon us. And sometimes in East Cobb that means long strings of cold days inside. If you are itching to get out of the house when it’s cold outside – the Atlanta area still has lots of fun opportunities! Here are some ideas:

Find your own snow

If you are dying for more snow encounters than East Cobb can give, try out Snow Island at Lanier Islands! They have family packages with ice skating, tubing, and a snow play area. Plus lots of other rides and fun activities for the family.

See a puppet show

If you would rather stay warm on a chilly Georgia day, check out one of the most unique experiences you will find in Atlanta, the Center for Puppetry Arts. Check out a puppet show and take a walk in the museum. The fam will love it.

Enjoy a cup of hot coffee

Head over to Vanilla Cafe e Gelato for a delicious cup of coffee. And if you want to give the cold weather the finger, go ahead and order some decadent gelato too!

Get cozy in a chic North Georgia cabin

Check out these high design cabins in Dahlonega for a unique take on a mountain vacation! These are not your typical a-frames (although we love those too!)

Take a hike

Enjoy our beautiful area with a hike on one of our recommended trails, all within a short drive of East Cobb!

Help a neighbor

MUST Ministries is taking coat donations for our neighbors in need! New/gently used coats can be dropped off at the Mt. Bethel Methodist Church Welcome Center.

Take a day trip to ski/snowboard

Did you know you could hit the slopes just a few hours away from East Cobb? Check out our resort guide here and be sure to check the snow conditions before you go!

We love the temperate winters of our area – it’s so easy to get out and enjoy a cold day! What are your favorite cold day activities in or near East Cobb?
